BYD Drive Electric. Love Pinas.
A Guinness World Record Expedition, Documented End-to-End by X Meets Y Creatives
"Drive Electric. Love Pinas." is the largest continuous electric vehicle expedition ever documented in the Philippines: 3,500 kilometers, 102 cities, 22 days, across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. X Meets Y Creatives was entrusted as the official photo and video documentation partner for BYD Cars Philippines, ACMobility, and the Department of Tourism on a campaign that ultimately earned two Guinness World Records: Most Cities Visited in a Continuous Journey by a Battery Electric Vehicle (BEV) and by a Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV).
Executing a production of this scale required more than a film crew. It required a team capable of operating as a self-sufficient, mobile production house for over three weeks straight, across terrain ranging from coastal sand dunes to mountain passes to inter-island ferry crossings. X Meets Y Creatives deployed a 17-member field team across two coordinated units, an advance unit scouting locations and capturing establishing footage ahead of the convoy, and a main unit embedded with the vehicles, delivering full multi-camera coverage, aerial cinematography, real-time DIT, and multi-track audio across 21 consecutive shooting days.
At the helm was Founder and Creative Director Angelo Balanon, who led the production across every phase of the campaign, from early mood boards and vendor sourcing to hands-on cinema camera operation, on-site DIT management, and final edit. Before founding X Meets Y Creatives in 2017, building his career as a Director of photography, video director, and editor, work that directly informs the hands-on, full-stack production approach the company is known for today. "Drive Electric. Love Pinas." was executed in collaboration with Brand on Demand Corporation, and video-directed by Mark David D. Acob.
The result: broadcast-quality documentation of a nationwide campaign that generated substantial earned media across national and international outlets on the strength of its two Guinness World Record titles. That coverage extended the campaign's reach far beyond its original broadcast and social media placements, positioning "Drive Electric. Love Pinas." as one of the most widely covered automotive and tourism campaigns in the Philippines this year.
